2023-2024 Student Aid Application Now Open!
Calgary Central Church offers financial assistance to members whose children would not otherwise be able to attend Chinook Winds Adventist Academy (CWAA) because of financial constraints.
Applicants must be in good and regular standing as a member of Central Church and must be supporting the church with both tithe/offerings and attendance. Students are expected to exhibit good citizenship and have appropriate academic progress while in attendance at CWAA.
Student Aid is based on need. A Christian education may require a degree of sacrifice on behalf of the family. Each application will be considered on its own merits, such as family size, commitment to the church, and school costs. Families with income greater than $64,000 will not be granted aid, however extenuating circumstances will be considered. Please inform us if your circumstances have changed.
If you wish to apply for assistance, the application must be completed and returned with a copy of your 2022 notice(s) of assessment or 2022 income tax return(s). In addition, please also submit a copy of your two most recent pay stubs. If parents of the student(s) are separated or divorced, they may complete their portion of the application on separate forms submitted directly to the student aid committee.
Students who receive aid will be required to provide the student’s social insurance number. Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) website says that this is not taxable income, but requires a T4A be issued. The student’s social insurance number will need to be submitted to the student aid committee before September 15.
If financial aid is being requested for a student who will be in grade 7-12, the application is to be accompanied by a hand-written paragraph written by the student answering one of the following questions.
For students new to Chinook Winds please answer:

For returning students, please answer one of the following:
1. Finish this sentence: I appreciate CWAA because…
2. Finish this sentence: I appreciate it when my teachers…
3. What is a positive memory of the last year at CWAA?

Applications received after this date will only be considered if there are exceptional circumstances.
